New Media Internship | Fall 2010

The New Media Internship with the Atlanta Falcons will provide current students valuable insights into the inner workings of a professional sports franchise. While interning as a member of the New Media team for the 2010 season, the New Media Intern will be responsible for performing a wide variety of tasks including administrative, shooting video, and production activities related to AtlantaFalcons.com content. This internship is ideal for students with the knowledge and passion of the NFL and Atlanta Falcons that are interested in pursuing a career in sports journalism, web management, video post production, broadcast journalism and innovative sports marketing outlets.
Internship Responsibilities:
&amp;bull; Shooting and uploading videos to AtlantaFalcons.com as directed by New Media Team
&amp;bull; Managing and updating video assets on AtlantaFalcons.com (postgame, special events, etc.)
&amp;bull; Select creative/journalistic video assignments for publication on AtlantaFalcons.com
&amp;bull; Research for video and select projects by request of New Media team members
&amp;bull; Prepare and upload video to team partners including NFL Network
&amp;bull; Assist in recording/editing of regular podcasts for iTunes and AtlantaFalcons.com
&amp;bull; Support in production of various video and/or audio segments (live events, etc.)

The Atlanta Falcons have a seasonal internship opening for current students seeking course credit and are interested in the community relations function of a professional sports team. The Community Relations Internship provides support to the Community Relations Department, through assisted coordination of designated community, player and youth football.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:

a. Assist with donations/sponsorship request and fulfillment
b. Assist with management of player request database
c. Respond to general community relations inquires
d. Support youth football events and camps
e. Assist with required game day duties and seasonal programs/events

Education and Experience Requirements

a. Currently pursuing a Bachelor&apos;s degree
b. Prior internships or volunteer experience with non-profit organizations or community programs
c. Prior experience in events
d. A minimum GPA is not required but GPA will be taken into consideration
