Facility Operations: Custodial/Housekeeping
Housekeeping Quality Assurance & Training Coordinator - Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta, GA)

Position Summary

The Housekeeping Quality Control/Quality Assurance and Training Coordinator is responsible for developing quality control/quality assurance inspection programs and procedures, and the development of training content to properly educate Mercedes-Benz Stadium Housekeeping Team Members.  This position will also take an active role in developing key performance indicators to track progress. The Housekeeping Quality Control/Quality Assurance and Training Coordinator will report directly to the Manager of Housekeeping Services.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop functional training standards, training manuals, check lists and operating processes needed to properly educate Housekeeping Team members in the appropriate means and methods of cleaning Mercedes-Benz Stadium.  The coordinator will be responsible for providing new hire and ongoing routine training sessions/refreshers and maintain completion of records/logs.

  • Develop key performance indicators to track individual and department performance and progress. Assist in providing assessments of staff for additional training needs, performance improvement and performance optimization. Provide regular reports to the Manager of Housekeeping Services and Director of Stadium Operations.

  • Support organization’s Welcome Home service philosophy by ensuring team members attendance, compliance and engagement and participating in training as requested.

  • Recognize associates through our Values in Action program for associates who live our values in exemplary ways. 

  • Support Manager’s pre-event team huddles by sharing best practices, updates and event information as relevant for staff’s knowledge.

  • Develop a Quality Control/Quality Assurance inspection program for daily, pre-event, event, and post-event cleaning activities.  Monitor performance and adjust training programs/content accordingly to correct deficiencies.

  • Partner with HR and assist Housekeeping manager with job fair preparation, set-up and hiring for MBS Housekeeping Associates when requested or required.

  • Assist the Scheduling Coordinator with distribution and tracking of keys and two-way radios to PT Housekeeping staff, and collection of keys and radios upon conclusion of events when requested or required.

  • Assist with game day and post-game deployment and supervision to ensure safety and cleanliness standards are achieved.

 Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a building or project of significant scale and complexity.
  • In depth knowledge of commonly used housekeeping/janitorial practices, procedures and concepts.
  • Must have experience with safety regulations and procedures. Completion of OSHA 30-Hr. training within the past 24 months.
  • Experience with data analysis, preventive/corrective action, and key performance indicators.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and presentation)
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) desired
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products including Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint.
  • Prior certification or experience in training employees.
  • Comfortable speaking and presenting in front of large groups
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays

Facility Operations: Grounds Crew/Turf Management
Groundskeeper Helper - Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta, GA)

Position Summary

Assist in the maintenance of synthetic turf sports field through labor support for painters and turf manager. Assist in field layout, painting and paint removal.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide labor to move equipment on and off professional turf playing surface

  • Assist with game day field make ready

  • Assist painters with field layout

  • Assist with pre-and post-game field maintenance

  • Clean and maintain equipment

  • Clean and remove debris from playing field

  • Assist with playing field game sets.

  • General labor related to field maintenance as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, the ability to follow instruction and work with a productive team in a fast pace environment. Past experience as a painter helper, groundskeeper or field crew hand preferred but not necessary. 

Required Skills

  • General knowledge of field/ groundskeeper equipment or the ability to learn and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions sometimes under tight deadlines and unusual hours. The ability to have fun.

Facility Operations: Grounds Crew/Turf Management
Skilled Field Painter - Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta, GA)

Position Summary

Provide support with painting for NFL, MLS, college and high school sporting events on a synthetic turf playing surface.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Layout sports field prior to paint request
  • Paint field under direction of lead painter
  • Assist with field paint needs
  • Provide labor related to field layout needs
  • Clean and maintain equipment and stencils
  • Assist in all Painting activates related to field turf needs

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Ability to work long hours and prior painting experience preferably in a sports field capacity. The ability to follow direction and interpret field painting layouts. Ability to work long hours on demand and work well with a team, High school diploma or equivalent, trade school experience a plus.

Facility Operations: Maintenance
HVAC Mechanic - Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta, GA)
  • Position Description

    A HVAC Mechanic for Mercedes-Benz Stadium is an integral part of Stadium Operations.  Our HVAC engineers service all of our  facilities HVAC needs including keeping our building fully functional and maintaining our LEED-Platinum certified facility which puts heavy emphasis on indoor air quality and human comfort.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Education Requirements

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: State of Georgia, Conditioned Air Contractors, Non-restricted; ACCA, Universal Technician, Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification Program; Boiler Certification may be substituted based on experience. Certification in Refrigeration from a junior college or technical school preferred.

    Required Skill

    • Performs a variety of HVAC / refrigeration maintenance activities; including: preventative maintenance, routine HVAC up-keep, repairs and fulfillment of work orders.
    • Examines and diagnoses problems with HVAC equipment and determines the best method of repair.
    • Performs preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment; including but not limited to replacing filters and cleaning coils.
    • Assists in monitoring and scheduling the BIM (Building Information Modeling) system through Johnson Controls.
    • Monitor BAM (Building Automaton System) Metysys for increased indoor air quality and energy management
    • Maintains applicable documentation and records of work activities through the CMMS system.
    • Meets with potential contractors working in the building and offers input related to the day-to-day operation of the facility.
    • Maintains maintenance and storage areas and keeps in exquisite working condition
    • Familiarity and ability to adhere to OSHA and other applicable safety codes.
    • Other duties, functions, special projects and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
    • Troubleshoot repair ice makers, walk in refrigeration and standard refrigeration
    • Working knowledge of physical plant operation and maintenance 
    • A high school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) required with 2-year technical degree in HVAC Refrigeration with knowledge of physical plant operations.
    • A minimum of six (6) years’ experience as an air conditioning mechanic for an air conditioning contractor with three (3) years’ experience as a journeyman required.
    • Prefer two (2) years as an air conditioning mechanic for a multi-purpose facility servicing major exhibition, entertainment and/or meeting oriented events.
    • Must be customer service oriented and maintain a neat and clean appearance at all times
    • Must have a keen awareness of working environment; “you see – you respond” meaning pick up trash, wrappers, paper, litter, or any other debris you see to keep our building clean at all times
    • Must be available for approximately 75 % all events held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium including Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United FC soccer, concerts, etc.  Associates must be available for events on nights, weekends and holidays.
    • This is a Full-time position requiring flexible schedules possible first and second shift rotation
    • Must enjoy helping others and working within a team environment
    • Ability to perform multiple tasks at one time, meet tight deadline and function under stress.
    • Proactive in seeking out positive interactions with both guest and coworkers and interested in maintaining those positive relationships
    • Must enjoy speaking and interacting with others in a warm, friendly, and respectful manner
    • Must be available to attend all necessary training as a prerequisite for employment
    • Ability to stand, walk or walk up and down stairs throughout an event
    • Ability to operate software on a mobile platform.
    • Ability to read and comprehend manuals, blueprints, sketches, and drawings
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work at high elevations
    • Must be able to pass a standard HVAC theory test prior to employment
    • Daily operational maintenance and set up of HVAC facility needs
    • Ability to install repair HVAC components as needed
    • Ability to troubleshoot electrical HVAC controls issues and resolve problems
    • Inspect all areas to assure safe operations of all HVAC equipment
    • Basic knowledge of physical plan operations, (advanced knowledge preferred)
    • Change and install motors, relays and controls as needed
    • Working knowledge of low voltage and HVAC data controls JCI  
    • Full understanding of superheat and manifold gauges for refrigerant monitoring  
    • Working knowledge of kitchen refrigeration and repair
