HVAC Mechanic - Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta, GA)

Position Description

A HVAC Mechanic for Mercedes-Benz Stadium is an integral part of Stadium Operations.  Our HVAC engineers service all of our  facilities HVAC needs including keeping our building fully functional and maintaining our LEED-Platinum certified facility which puts heavy emphasis on indoor air quality and human comfort.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of HVAC / refrigeration maintenance activities; including: preventative maintenance, routine HVAC up-keep, repairs and fulfillment of work orders.

  • Examines and diagnoses problems with HVAC equipment and determines the best method of repair.

  • Performs preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment; including but not limited to replacing filters and cleaning coils.

  • Assists in monitoring and scheduling the BIM (Building Information Modeling) system through Johnson Controls.

  • Monitor BAM (Building Automaton System) Metysys for increased indoor air quality and energy management

  • Maintains applicable documentation and records of work activities through the CMMS system.

  • Meets with potential contractors working in the building and offers input related to the day-to-day operation of the facility.

  • Maintains maintenance and storage areas and keeps in exquisite working condition

  • Familiarity and ability to adhere to OSHA and other applicable safety codes.

  • Other duties, functions, special projects and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

  • Troubleshoot repair ice makers, walk in refrigeration and standard refrigeration

  • Working knowledge of physical plant operation and maintenance 

    Education Requirements

    A high school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) required with 2-year technical degree in HVAC Refrigeration with knowledge of physical plant operations. A minimum of six (6) years’ experience as an air conditioning mechanic for an air conditioning contractor with three (3) years’ experience as a journeyman required. Prefer two (2) years as an air conditioning mechanic for a multi-purpose facility servicing major exhibition, entertainment and/or meeting oriented events.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: State of Georgia, Conditioned Air Contractors, Non-restricted; ACCA, Universal Technician, Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Certification Program; Boiler Certification may be substituted based on experience. Certification in Refrigeration from a junior college or technical school preferred.

Required Skill

  • Must be customer service oriented and maintain a neat and clean appearance at all times

  • Must have a keen awareness of working environment; “you see – you respond” meaning pick up trash, wrappers, paper, litter, or any other debris you see to keep our building clean at all times

  • Must be available for approximately 75 % all events held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium including Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United FC soccer, concerts, etc.  Associates must be available for events on nights, weekends and holidays.

  • This is a Full-time position requiring flexible schedules possible first and second shift rotation

  • Must enjoy helping others and working within a team environment

  • Ability to perform multiple tasks at one time, meet tight deadline and function under stress.

  • Proactive in seeking out positive interactions with both guest and coworkers and interested in maintaining those positive relationships

  • Must enjoy speaking and interacting with others in a warm, friendly, and respectful manner

  • Must be available to attend all necessary training as a prerequisite for employment

  • Ability to stand, walk or walk up and down stairs throughout an event

  • Must be able to pass a standard HVAC theory test prior to employment

  • Daily operational maintenance and set up of HVAC facility needs

  • Ability to install repair HVAC components as needed

  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical HVAC controls issues and resolve problems

  • Inspect all areas to assure safe operations of all HVAC equipment

  • Basic knowledge of physical plan operations, (advanced knowledge preferred)

  • Change and install motors, relays and controls as needed

  • Working knowledge of low voltage and HVAC data controls JCI  

  • Full understanding of superheat and manifold gauges for refrigerant monitoring  

  • Working knowledge of kitchen refrigeration and repair

Facility Operations: Maintenance
Plumber - Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta, GA)

Position Description

A Plumber for Mercedes-Benz Stadium is an integral part of Stadium Operations.  Our plumbers service all of our facilities plumbing and water system needs including keeping our building fully functional and maintaining our LEED-Platinum certified facility. This position is also an integral part of our event day operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

  • Performs a variety of plumbing maintenance activities; including: preventative maintenance, routine building up-keep, repairs and fulfillment of work orders.

  • Assists in managing LEED-certified water retention system through our cistern, water treatment plant, and cooling towers.

  • Provides professional safe service related to all stadium plumbing and water systems.

  • Maintains applicable documentation and records of work activities through the CMMS system.

  • Meets with potential contractors working in the building and offers input related to the day-to-day operation of the facility.

  • Maintains maintenance and storage areas and keeps in exquisite working condition

  • Familiarity and ability to adhere to OSHA and other applicable safety codes.

  •  Position shall operate, maintain, perform and supervise work related to maintenance of plumbing installations, plumbing equipment, and plumbing services.

  • Monitor and secure the safekeeping of plumbing and facility equipment and supplies in accordance with current building and safety codes. 
  • Monitor, review and implement operational techniques to enhance efficiencies and maintain all systems in accordance with applicable codes.
  • Monitor and maintain test operations of fire pumps and fire suppression system serve as liaison to vendor and contractors related to this task.

  • Monitor grease trap and waste water reports and oversee compliance

  • Repair irrigation and water leaks per code as required

  • Repair and replace sinks, fixtures,  waterless and low flow urinals toilets .

  • Maintain all kitchen plumbing needs including 3 compartment sinks, dishwashers and drains .

  • Drain cleaning and jetting as needed .

  • Welding/ pipe fitting  MIG- TIG and brazing as needed

    Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED), and two (2) years of college or technical school preferred.  Minimum five (5) years experience as a plumber/welder for a major commercial plumbing firm or comparable position.  Prefer three (3) years experience in a plumber/welder capacity with a multi-purpose facility servicing major exhibitions, entertainment, or meeting oriented events. Experience may serve as a substitute for education on the basis of two (2) years experience for one (1) year education

  • Working knowledge and operation of hand powered tools, conduit binder and light construction equipment (e.g., forklift, Genie Lift, skid loader)

  • NFPA certification not required but preferred

  • State Master Plumber, Class II, No-restricted license or Certification from Technical school in related field preferred.

Position Description

An Electrician for Mercedes-Benz Stadium is an integral part of Stadium Operations.  Our electricians service all of our facilities electrical needs including the needs of internal and external customers related to stadium and event operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of Electrical maintenance activities; including: troubleshooting, replacing light fixtures, load testing, general repairs, and fulfillment of routine and non-routine work orders.

  • Assists in managing our Lighting Control system for the entire building.

  • Provides professional safe service related to all stadium electrical requirements.

  • Maintains applicable documentation and records of work activities through the CMMS system.

  • Meets with potential contractors working in the building and offers input related to the day-to-day operation of the facility.

  • Maintains maintenance and storage areas and keeps in exquisite working condition

  • Familiarity and ability to adhere to OSHA and other applicable safety codes.

  • Other duties, functions, special projects and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor

    Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Prefer two (2) years of technical school. Minimum four (4) years’ experience as an electrician for a residential or commercial electrical contractor with work experience in 480/277 volt, 208/120-volt systems with knowledge of transformers, low voltage and D.C circuitry. Must demonstrate experience in general building maintenance. Prefer electrical experience in the convention, stadium and/or large facility or campus operations.

  • State Certified - Class II Electrical license preferred.

  • Working knowledge and operation of hand powered tools, conduit binder and light construction equipment (e.g., forklift, Genie Lift, skid loader)

Facility Operations: Payroll
Payroll Analyst - Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta, GA)

Summary of Job

The Payroll Analyst is responsible for ensuring accurate payroll processing for all the employees of Mercedes-Benz Stadium.  This position will involve a significant amount of work with our timekeeping system, ABI, as well as interaction with employees to ensure their paychecks are accurate.  This position will report to the Mercedes-Benz Stadium Controller but will also take direction from the AMB Sports and Entertainment Payroll department as well as Human Resources.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Verify timekeeping records for all hourly employees.

  • Contact employees and managers about any payroll discrepancies.

  • Ensure the proper approval of employee time by managers.

  • Review the electronic timekeeping system to ensure accuracy.

  • Transmit payroll timely (in conjunction with AMBSE Payroll Department)

  • Ensure all stadium expense reports and contractor payroll is uploaded properly and accurately.

  • Book the payroll entries to the General Ledger system.

  • Book all benefits entries to the General Ledger.

  • Complete month-end close procedures for all payroll related items.

  • Assist in any payroll related audit responsibilities.

  • Work with the rest of the finance team on the annual budget.

  • Complete standard and ad hoc reporting as needed.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • 3 – 4 years in a payroll department.

  • Knowledge of payroll systems.

    Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of ABI.

  • Ability to work in a high-paced environment.

  • Strong skills in building relationships across departments with a customer service oriented approach.

  • Ability to concurrently perform multiple assignments, manage processes.

  • Highly detail oriented and organized in work.

  • Must be able to maintain confidential information.

  • Excellent communication skills and commitment to provide outstanding customer service.

  • Ability to act and operate with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives.

  • Flexibility in work schedule.
